Shop New / 23This section covers the documents that are useful before a purchase decision rather than after one: product specification sheets, material and finish options, sample request instructions, and the standard project documentation set.
If a specific document is not listed, request it directly with the item reference and the project context, and it will be prepared for the relevant specification.
Specification sheets describing dimensions, materials, construction and hardware for a given item. Finish schedules listing available materials and finishes with their maintenance profiles. Sample request forms for physical swatches. Project document sets covering packing lists, item labels and inspection records.
Documents are prepared against the client's specified market and standards rather than published as blanket certifications.
Provide the item reference or a drawing, the required quantity, the finish of interest, and the destination country. Samples are normally charged, and are often partly credited against the production order once it is placed.
For custom work, shop drawings are issued for approval before production, so that dimensions, joinery and interfaces are resolved before material is cut.
See our custom furniture knowledge base for specification guidance, the factory capability overview, and hotel furniture for hospitality-specific documentation requirements.
A usable specification sheet describes the item in fields that can be compared across suppliers: overall dimensions (W x D x H) and seat dimensions where relevant, frame material and joint type, surface material and thickness, upholstery type with foam density by layer, hardware specification, and packing method.
If a field is missing from a supplier's sheet, ask for it in writing rather than assuming a value — the missing field is usually the one where a substitution would occur.
Request samples of the same finish from each supplier being compared, and view them together under the same light. Colour approved separately on different days almost always drifts, and a swatch approved on a screen is not a reliable reference.
For natural materials, ask for two or three samples from the same batch so that the normal variation range can be judged before production rather than at inspection.
A standard export delivery includes the packing list, item labels matching that list, and any agreed inspection records. Where a project specifies third-party inspection, the report scope is agreed in writing beforehand — dimensional, finish, functionality and packing checks are separate items.
Keeping the approved sample and the submittal log on file means a future replacement order can be matched to the original specification rather than re-specified from scratch.
To request documents, provide the item reference or drawing, the required quantity, the finish of interest and the destination market. That single message contains everything needed to return a specification sheet, a finish schedule and a sample request form for the correct item.
